Announcements 9/27/24

Good Afternoon Rockets! This is your Friday update from the Main Office.

  • We have a number of college visits planned for Tuesday October 1st in the CCRC room 3-105.  Grand Canyon University will be here at 9:00 AM, St. Ben’s and St. John’s will be here at 10 AM, University of Denver will be here at 11:00, Bemidji State will be here at 11:45 and Lawrence University will be here at 12:30.  If you would like to attend any of these college visits, please pick up a college visit pass in the Counseling Office or the Main Office.

  • Do you need Dental Care? We have a free on-site clinic happening next month for students who qualify. Please see Mrs. Vasquez in 3-111 or the Nurse for questions or a registration form.

  • If you filled out the parking pass form, please stop in the main office to pick up your pass.  All cars in the student lot should have a current pass by October 31st

Good Afternoon Rockets! This is your Thursday update from the Main Office.

  • Tomorrow at 8:50 UW Eau Claire will be visiting the CCRC room 3-105.  If you would like to attend the visit stop by the office to pick up a College visit pass.

  • RCTC is hosting a College Fair on Monday, September 30th from 1-2:30pm in their Field House Sports Complex.  Ninety five colleges and universities will be attending.  Students must pre register for the College Fair and must provide their own transportation.  More information is available on posters outside the Counseling Office.

  • If you are planning to attend the U of M field trip on Saturday.  The deadline for turning in the permission slip is 2:30 today.

  • Congratulations to Mr. Riggot and Mr. Fisher's classes.  They won 2nd prize for RNeighbors week and received their yard game prizes today!  Thanks for helping to bring community to JM.

  • Attention FCCLA members.  Dues and membership forms are due today.  Also get your fundraiser brochures from Ms. Hansen. There will be a meeting on Tuesday next week after school.

  • Attention students, this Saturday come support Rochester Chalk the Block!  There will be a chalk mural here at JM and FCCLA will be selling drinks and snacks for those that are walking or biking the route to see all 13 chalk artists across Rochester!  There will also be yard games for the kids. Our own Mr. Bryson is one of the judges!  See RNEIGHBORS.org for the route and scavenger hunt map.

  • JM PRIDE, the LGBTQIA+ organization will be changing our meeting time. We will now be meeting on Thursdays from 3:35-5pm and on Friday mornings from 8am-8:45 in room 2-214. If you have any questions talk to Ms. Oxley in room 2-214. 

  • Good Afternoon Rockets this is Daysha I have an announcement to make The JM Mural  is being installed starting today through next Tuesday. Please take a few minutes to go outside the Main Entrance and watch mural magic in action. This is a rare opportunity so don’t miss out on the amazing artwork that is being shown outside.

  • Spanish club will meet every Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 in Mrs. Torres-Herbeck’s room (3-G20). 

  • Tomorrow, Spanish Club will be joining the Spanish club at Mayo HS to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. The event will be at  Mayo HS starting at 4:30

  • Rockets, we will have a fire drill at the end of period 7 today. Teachers, if the fire strobe light is not flashing in your classroom or you cannot hear my announcements, please let the office know right away.

  • Students participating in the Women in the Natural Sciences Field Trip must read and respond to the email Mrs. Vasquez sent yesterday. The field trip is on Thursday.

  • Congratulations to the JM staff for defeating the students in tug of war and dodgeball at last week's pepfest!  As the school year progresses, there will be more staff vs student events, but for now...the score is Staff 2, Students 0.

  • Get ready Rockets: Our first Rocket Boost of the school year is tomorrow! Come outside during your lunch period and spend some time with the Red Barn Learning Farm's petting zoo. It was a hit last year so we brought back the rabbits and llamas and mini donkey and more. See you there!
