Announcements 9/06/24

Good Afternoon Rockets! This is your Friday update from the Main Office.

  • Rockets, are you going to the Football game tonight?  Remember we are using a new app this year to buy tickets.  It’s called Go Fan.  You can also buy tickets at the door or scan the QR code on the poster in the Main Office.  Student passes are available on the GO Fan app for $45. Individual student tickets are $6.00.  Cash is no longer accepted at the gate.

  • Callbacks for Mean Girls have been posted on the auditorium door and they will take place today after school in the auditorium.

  •  Be a part of the festivities! If your club, group, or organization wants to join the Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 20, please use the QR code located on the window of the main office or the attendance office. Don't have a truck or trailer? No problem! You can walk, cartwheel, or ride bikes. 

  •  If you hate cancer as much as I do, join our Relay For Life team this year. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 11th at 8:20 in room 2-201, Mrs. Eldredge's room. Help us fight the good fight!

  • Interested in a career in the Natural Sciences? On Thursday, September 26th, we are taking students to the BIPOC Women in the Natural Sciences Career Fair. This will be a day of hands-on activities outside and career exploration. See Mrs. Vasquez in 3-111 if interested.

  • For those interested in joining FCCLA and for current members, we will be having our first meeting on Tuesday at 3:40 in room 2-203  See you there!!

  • Reminder Picture days are next week on Tuesday for grades 9 & 10 and Wednesday for grades 11 & 12.  Get your picture taken so you can get a new student ID card.  Remember you will need your ID if you plan on attending the Homecoming Dance.

  • JM PRIDE will be meeting today in Mrs. Kraske's room at 3:35. Today we will be doing a blooket and you can win some rainbow bacon (airheads extreme). We will also be looking at the JM PRIDE T-shirts and posters. We hope to see you there! 

  •  Be a part of the festivities!   • It is now officially Orientation Week for John Marshall FCCLA. Stop by the display case by the culinary room or outside room 2-203 to read more about what FCCLA is and how you can join. Today, students can stop by Mrs.Hansen’s room 2-203, to take a look at FCCLA pins and red suit blazers, so you know what to expect when you are ready to wear your own. On Thursday, there will be fun and engaging workshop activities going on in Mrs.Hansen’s room. Thursday you are challenged to find an FCCLA member and ask them about joining!  Lastly, on Friday, a FCCLA state officer will be coming to JM to speak about FCCLA and answer any questions you may have, in room 2-203. We hope to see you there!

  • Rockets, picture day is next week.  Tuesday is picture day for 9th and 10th graders and Wednesday is for 11th and 12th grade.  You will get your new Student ID for this school year so make sure you get your picture taken!

  • And now a special announcement from our debate club: It’s debate season.  If you would like to be part of Debate  it’s good for getting college scholarships and honing your speaking skills.    If you would like to learn more about it we are having an informational meeting this Thursday after school in room 3-G22.
