Good afternoon Rockets! This is your Friday update from the Main Office.
Rockets, if you are participating in the Culture Day Performance there will be a practice on Monday, April 15th during 7th and 8th period in the Auditorium.
Environmental Club is hosting a thrift sale in the Rocket Center on Saturday, April 13th from 12:00 to 3:00 stop by and check it out.
Seniors: There are a number of scholarship deadlines on Monday, April 15th. Stop by the Counseling Office, or check your email from Mrs. Bergerson sent on April 8th, to view scholarships that are still available.
Seniors - Are you interested in speaking at graduation? Stop by and see Mrs. Bender in room 3-205 for details.
Reminder, Prom tickets are on sale now through Tuesday, April 23rd. If you need a date form come and get one in the main office.
JM will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, April 25. To donate, you must be at least 16 years old. Please see or email Mrs. Dahl in room 5-108 if you are interested in an appointment.
Want to paint more of the mural? Didn't get to paint any and still want to? Join us tomorrow for our Community Paint Party outside at JM. Drop by anytime between 9:30AM - 12:30. It is open to anyone, so bring siblings, friends, grammas, parents…

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JOHN MARSHALL FCCLA CHAPTER! All students that competed at State qualified for Nationals in Seattle Washington in June! Great job!
Congratulations to Manal Mahamoud for being elected an Area Officer/Secretary for the 2024-2025 school year for FCCLA! Not only did she qualify for Nationals she received a Bronze Award in Job Interview and a Silver Award in Leadership Skills.
Congratulations to Mikki Sunia for receiving a Gold Award in Career Investigation.
Congratulations to Kya Lee for getting a Gold Award in Professional Presentation where she focused on The Crisis in Daycare Workers in America.
Congratulations to Will Tran for being elected as a STATE OFFICER for the 2024-2025 school year! Will will be Vice President of Public Relations! Will also received a Gold medal in Professional Presentation with his focus on the national healthcare crisis. Way to go JM FCCLA!!
Attention! FCCLA members attending Nationals and their parents are needed at a meeting on Monday April 15th at 4:00 in room 2-203. Please see Mrs. Hansen if you are not able to make this meeting.
FCCLA members will have a meeting after school next Tuesday, April 16th from 3:30 to 4:00 and then we have our fundraising event at 4:00 - 5:00 pm!! This is to fundraise for nationals! All need to be there.

Environmental Club is hosting a thrift sale in the Rocket Center on Friday April 12th during all lunch periods and on Saturday, April 13th from 12:00 to 3:00 stop by and check it out.
On Friday April 12th from 11-1:30, during all lunches, we will have the 2nd addition of the Rocket Career Launch in the gym. If you are interested in Health Care, Computer Science, Peace Officer and Criminal Justice stop in the gym and talk to representatives from RCTC.

A huge thanks to our junior class for doing a great job yesterday on the ACT. They arrived at school on time, with fully charged Chromebooks and took the test very seriously! They crushed it!
A huge thanks to Mrs. Thurston who organized ACT Day for JM! She did a fantastic job with our counseling team to make sure the day went smoothly! Shout out to all the teachers who were test proctors, we couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you!!
After-school homework help has been canceled this week. It will start again next Wednesday, April 17, and will only run on Wednesdays until May 22.
Students & Staff - Come help paint the JM Mural this week ONLY! The artist will be set up in the wrestling room through Friday of this week. Stop down during an open hour, lunch or during advisory with a teacher pass. Come be a part of this unique opportunity.

Rockets, on Wednesday, April 10th our 11th grade students and some of our 12th grade students will be taking the ACT test. This means if you are in 9th, 10th or 12th grade you do not have school on Wednesday.
Environmental Club is hosting a thrift sale on April 11th , 12th and 13th! You can still donate your old clothes in the bins in the lobby until April 12th. Otherwise, make sure to stop by the Rocket Center during your lunch hour to check out the Thrift Sale!
There will be a Relay for Life meeting tomorrow morning Tuesday, April 9th at 7:30 in room 2-201. See you there!
Rockets, the Med City Marathon has a volunteer opportunity for school staff and students. If you are interested in helping out at this year’s race on May 18th. Please see Gina in the Main Office for the link to sign up or ask your teacher for the link in today’s announcements.

All clubs, ACT Prep, and Emotional Intelligence Class will run as scheduled this week except for Wednesday everything is canceled because of the ACT Test.

Good afternoon Rockets! This is your Tuesday update from the Main Office.
Rockets, tomorrow our 11th grade students and some of our 12th grade students will be taking the ACT test. This means if you are in 9th, 10th or 12th grade you do not have school tomorrow.
Juniors, here are some reminders for tomorrow. Report to Door 1 by the flagpole no later than 8:05 tomorrow morning, doors open at 7:50 AM. You must be in your assigned room no later than 8:10 tomorrow. Charge your Chromebook tonight so it is fully charged tomorrow morning. Bring a Chromebook, charger, pencil, calculator, snack and water. Cell phones are not allowed in testing rooms, if you bring your cell phone into the building we will collect it until your test is complete.
The celebration for trans day of visibility will be moved from today to Friday in order to celebrate National Day of No Silence. We will be handing out free pronoun pins during all three lunches by door one. JM PRIDE will be meeting today after school at 3:30. We will be making pronoun pins and making plans for the rest of the year.
