Announcements February 16, 2024

Good afternoon Rockets! This is your Friday update from the Main Office.

  • Hey Juniors and Seniors! The STEM Fair needs YOU!  The Rochester Regional STEM Fair is coming up on March 1st, and I need high school students to judge middle school students' projects. In particular, there is a Pass the Torch Award that is given by current JM students to 8th graders who will attend your school next year. It's a lot of fun, and you will all get some Pasquale's pizza for your troubles.  See Ms. Erickson in 5-110 for more information! 

  • Rockets, the long awaited culture week is coming back the week of March 4. Showcase your culture and what you’re proud of by performing in the final showcase on March 8th. If you are interested, talk to Thompson in room 3200B.

  • Hey Rockets-  This is your 2024 YB staff delivering you another opportunity to still get your yearbook AND a free coffee from the Rocket Fuel shop. Here's how it works- buy your yearbook between Friday, 2/16 and Friday, 2/23 and Yearbook will buy you a free iced coffee, latte, or mocha from the Rocket Fuel shop! Already bought your yearbook? Don't worry- coffee will be available to all Rockets, but sales are cash only. Get your yearbook on the JM Yearbook Instagram page or stop by Ms.Welsh's room for the link or with any questions you might have.

  • Spring Sports Registration will be open next week starting on Monday, February 19th and closing Thursday, February 29th. Spring sports include Lacrosse, Golf, Baseball, Softball, Co-Ed Adapted Softball, Track & Field, and Boys Tennis. Make sure you have an updated sports physical on file as well. You will not be able to register without it. If you have any questions, please see Dakota in the Athletic Office.

  • Upcoming college visits:

  • Tuesday February 20, Luther College 1:30 PM -2:30 PM

  • Wednesday, February 21 - Minnesota State 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

  • If you would like to attend one of these college visits please get a pass in the CCRC room 3-105.

  • For all boys interested in playing golf this year, there will be an informational meeting Friday February 23 in room 3G04 from 3:30 to 4:00. For more information, please contact Coach Glandon.

  • Reminder, there is an FCCLA meeting next Tuesday in room 2-203.  We have many activities to discuss.  Please be there to have a voice.  Thank you!

Good afternoon Rockets! This is your Wednesday update from the Main Office.

Spring sports include Lacrosse, Golf, Baseball, Softball, Co-Ed Adapted Softball, Track & Field, and Boys Tennis. Make sure you have an updated sports physical on file as well. You will not be able to register without it. If you have any questions, please see Dakota in the Athletic Office.

  • Upcoming college visits:

  • JM's Prom Committee is selling baked goods, drinks, and chips in the lobby to raise money for this year's prom!  These delicious treats are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during all lunches.

  • Auditions for the Spring Play “Spy School” will be held February 13 and 15 from 3:30 to 5:30 in the Auditorium.  Sign up on the auditorium door if you are interested.

  • Rockets, don't forget your items for the Ronald McDonald House supply drive.  Donations can be dropped off in your English classrooms any day this week.  Don't forget that the winning classroom will get some treats the following week.  Thank you from FCCLA!

Announcements February 12, 2024

Good afternoon Rockets! This is your Monday update from the Main Office.

  • North Dakota State University will be visiting JM today at 2:30.  If you are interested in participating, go to the CCRC after 7th hour today.

  • Rockets, if you signed up for the Social Emotional Intelligence Class please meet in the library after school today at 3:30.

  • Congratulations to our Varsity Basketball teams who both beat Northfield on Friday night.  The score of the girls game was 67 to 60.  The score of the boys game was 64 to 44.

  • Congratulations to our Talent Show winners. Third place goes to Generic Rock Band, Micah and Daniel.  Second Place goes to Aspen Sorgatz and First Place goes to Sunshine and Ivy.
