Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Friday update from the main office.

  • Reminder!  The Fall Festival is tomorrow from 4-9pm!  Please support JM clubs, sports, and activities by joining us to play games, eat food, and lots more!  In the event of rain the Fall Festival will be in the gym.  Please enter through the gym doors if it is raining.  Hope to see you there!
  • It’s an exciting week next week JM!  It’s Homecoming!

Our Dress up days are:

  • MONDAY 9/25: Pajama Day, wear school appropriate pjs
  • TUESDAY 9/26: Adam Sandler Day, wear baggy or an Adam Sandler inspired outfit
  • WEDNESDAY 9/27: Pink vs. Camo, wear all pink or all camo or a mix!
  • THURSDAY 9/28: Sweater Weather, wear sweaters, flannel, sweatshirt, fall inspired
  • FRIDAY 9/29: Spirit Day, wear red and black or JM gear!
  • Would you like a homecoming T-Shirt?  The Booster club will be selling 2023 homecoming T-Shirts for $10 next week in the front lobby.  Look for their table Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
  • The Homecoming Parade will be on Friday, September 29th at 4:00. We are looking for LOTS of participants. If you are in a club, sport, organization or business that would like to participate with a float, please sign  up using the QR code in the office.
  • The Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, September 30th from 7-10 pm in the Gym.  Register for the dance using the link posted outside of the main office and around the school. The link is also on JM happenings and the JM Website.  Payment can be made directly on the link or will be collected in person on Sept 26, 27 and 28 during all lunches. Bringing a date from another school? Date forms can be picked up from the main office.  The date form must be signed before your date’s ticket can be purchased. 
  • On Tuesday, September 26th, two colleges will be visiting John Marshall in room 3-105, Please stop by the counseling office for a pass if you are interested in either visit.
    • Macalester College will be here from 1:00 - 1:45.
    • University of Wisconsin La Crosse will be here from 9:15 - 10:00 am.
  • Juniors interested in taking the PSAT. Registration is now available using the QR code located in English classrooms or outside the counseling office. The deadline to sign up is October 4th. Reminder tests are limited. See your counselor if you have additional questions.

  • Rocket Royalty court please check your emails from Ms. Thompson.
  • Exciting news JM!  This Saturday, from 4pm - 9pm, is JM's first Fall Festival!  Come join us for games, food, and student performances. All to support JM clubs and activities.  The Fall Festival will take place at JM in front of Door 1 or in the gym if it rains.
  • ATTENTION 2023-24 WINTER ATHLETES:  REGISTER FOR YOUR HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORT (7th-12th graders):  Online opens October 9 thru October 16 (closes October 16 at 4:00pm – this will ONLY be open for 1 week) You will need to make sure that your physical is on file and up-to-date in the athletic/activities office and does NOT expire prior to March 23rd or you will need to get a new one. The registration software will NOT allow you to register if you don’t have one on file or will expire. 
  • If you are interested in Writing Club the first meeting is today in the library computer lab after school.  Hope to see you there. 
  • The Booster club will be selling 2023 homecoming T-Shirts for $10 next week in the front lobby.  Look for their table Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Announcements 9/19/23

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Tuesday update from the main office.

  • Here is some bus information for this afternoon:
    • If you ride bus 85 you will ride bus 30 today.  Both bus signs will be in the window of the bus.
    • Bus 6, 67, and 35 will load at 3:30.
  • Exciting news JM!  This Saturday, from 4pm - 9pm, is JM's first Fall Festival!  Come join us for games, food, and student performances. All to support JM clubs and activities.  The Fall Festival will take place at JM in front of Door 1 or in the gym if it rains.
  • Seniors - There is a Jostens meeting regarding ordering cap and gowns and other graduation  items on Wednesday September 20th at 8:30 AM in the Auditorium.  Please attend.  
  • JM E-sports is ramping up practice for Fortnite and Rocket League. State registration closes next week so find a flyer and register using the QR code now. Chess and Super Smash Brothers is being considered based on student turn out. Join us in taking JM to the state tournament this season!
  • Don't forget, this Wednesday is our weekly FCCLA meeting right after school in Ms. Hansens room 2-203.  All are welcome.  It's important that you come if you want to participate in the Fall Festival, Fall Meeting at Kasson High School or the Homecoming float.  Thank you!!
  • JM PRIDE will be hosting LGBTQ+ bingo after school today from 3:30-5:00 in Ms. Oxley's room 2-214. Come win prizes, meet new friends and test your knowledge.

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Monday update from the main office.

  • Exciting news JM!  This Saturday, from 4pm - 9pm, is JM's first Fall Festival!  Come join us for games, food, student performances and support JM clubs and activities as you do!  The Fall Festival will take place at JM in front of Door 1 or in the gym if it rains.
  • Juniors- would you like to be a part of the 2023-24 Prom Committee?  This committee decides the location, food, theme, decorations, etc. of JM's Prom.  If you would like to join this committee, please meet in Mr. Luedtke's room, 3-210, after school  today.  This meeting will last about 15 minutes.
