Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Friday update from the main office.

  • Congratulations to the 2023 John Marshall Homecoming Rocket Royalty candidates.
    Ava Adams, Mowha Altayeb, Brianna Brehm, Kiera Derr, Nolen Helgerson, Jacob Hess, Tucker Holmes, Luke Liedl, Lilian Nhan and Noah Stanslaski.
    Homecoming week is Monday September 25 through Saturday, September 30th.  Go Rockets!
  • This year's Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, September 30th from 7-10 pm in the Gym.  Register for the dance using the link posted outside of the main office and around the school. The link is also on JM happenings and the JM Website.  Payment can be made directly on the link or will be collected in person on Sept 26, 27 and 28 during all lunches. Bringing a date from another school? Date forms can be picked up from the main office.  The date form must be signed before your date’s ticket can be purchased. 
  •  Reminder Monday is Picture retake day.  It will be in the Rocket Center from 8:10 to 2:00 if you need to have your picture taken. 
  • Today is the last day to buy the 2023-2024 yearbook for the lowest price of the season. Visit us on Instagram at JM Yearbook and follow us to order your yearbook! 
  • Juniors- would you like to be a part of the 2023-24 Prom Committee?  This committee decides the location, food, theme, decorations, etc. of JM's Prom.  If you would like to join this committee, please meet in Mr. Luedtke's room, 3-210, after school on Monday.  This meeting will last about 15 minutes.
  • The Homecoming Parade will be on Friday, September 29th. We are looking for LOTS of participants. If you are in a club, sport, organization or business that would like to participate with a float, please used the QR code or please sign up here.
  • JM are you interested in writing?  Join Writing Club.  Writing Club  meetings are after school at 3:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 19th. We will meet in the library computer lab.  Don't miss out on a chance to share your writing. 
  • Reminder after school homework help starts on Monday, September 18th in the library from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Hope to see you there.
  • Here are last nights sports scores:
    • Boys Soccer beat Northfield 1-0
    • Girls Soccer lost to Northfield - 1 to 0
    • Girls Swim won against  Albert Lea 89-86
    • Girls Tennis won against Mankato East 4-3
    • Girls XC placed 10th/17 teams at the Mayo Invite with Abi Tri (tree) placing 2nd and Ry Mathis placing 9th out of 118 girls.
    • Boys XC placed 11th/22 teams.
    • Girls Volleyball beat Winona 3-1

  • Time is ticking! The 2023-2024 yearbook is officially on sale and there's only 2 days left to get it for the lowest price of the season. Visit us on Instagram at JM Yearbook and follow us to order your yearbook! 
  • Hey JM! The Post Bulletin is currently seeking young writers for their publication. If you are interested in being a part of  this amazing opportunity, there will be a brief meeting in Ms. Welsh's room after school on Thursday, 9/14. We hope to see you in room 3-109 after school tomorrow! Can't make it, but are still interested? See Ms. Welsh for further info.

  • There will be an important FCCLA meeting on Wednesday after school in Room 2-203 where we will be voting for officers, talking about concessions and upcoming events. Please be there or see Ms. Hansen. Thanks!

Come see Jamie Johnson from RCTC all day every Wednesday to find out more about RCTC. Darren Sanner from PTECH is in the counseling office Thursday morning from 8-9:30am.
  • John Marshall will be periodically hosting recruiters from the Army, Navy, and other military branches over the lunch periods. Stop and say hello if you are interested.

    • Girls Soccer lost to Century 7-0 Boys Soccer lost to Century 5-0

  • Art Club is starting today Tuesday September 12; 3:20-4:20. Just show up in room 3-214. We will have an art club every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
  • Business Professional of America  - BPA  will have an informational meeting today right after school in room 3G00.  
  • JM PRIDE, JM's LGBTQIA+ community will meet after school today in Ms. Oxley's room 2-214. Everyone is welcome to attend. We hope to see you there

    • Boys XC placed 18th out of 32 teams.
    • Girls XC placed 16th out of 32 teams with Abi Tri and Ryana Mathis receiving awards for their 14th and 24th place finish against 241 athletes!
    • Boys Soccer lost to Farmington 3 to 2
    • Football  beat  North St. Paul 44-0
